Welcome to The Friday Forge – reflections that refine you.
Forge Thought of the Week:
“If you’re failing too often, you’re skipping the steps required for success.”
In the gym, I kept failing at a squat weight that should have been easy. Why? Because I thought I was stronger than I was. My ego wrote a cheque my body couldn’t cash.
So I made the jumps smaller. 160 to 164. Then 166. Then 168. Finally, 170.
Life is the same. If you’re failing too often:
At work: Maybe you’re pushing for promotions before you’ve mastered your current role.
In relationships: Maybe you’re expecting deep trust before you’ve shown consistent reliability.
In learning: Maybe you’re trying advanced pieces before you’ve nailed the basics.
When progress stalls, humility moves you forward. Smaller steps lead to bigger progress – and longer-lasting strength.
This week, forge your humility by asking:
“Am I taking the necessary steps, or am I just leaping blindly?”
Step wisely,
Brandon
