Truth is an obvious virtue, though it’s not a cardinal virtue. A cardinal virtue is pure; it’s always good, while the truth is not. Why not respond to this email with your online banking password if you don’t believe me?
Still, truth plays a very significant part in any philosophical journey. It is the handmaiden of love. “Love” we could define as acting in such a way as to produce the best life for yourself and others. It’s hard to love another, after all, without loving yourself.
