Hello Friends,
Earlier this week in a Premium post, I shared a short story about how driving a rental car — after months of enjoying a high-end truck — revealed something uncomfortable about myself.
I didn’t like how quickly I let the vehicle become a reflection of who I am.
But Stoicism has a way of cutting through those illusions.
“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.”
— Epictetus
It’s easy to think of this quote in terms of money, but what about ego? What if having fewer ego needs is just as important?
When something simple (like a car) bruises your pride, that’s not a problem — that’s a signal. One you can use.
The Stoic doesn’t seek to be without discomfort — he learns from it.

What’s one object, status symbol, or habit you’d struggle to let go of?
What would happen if you did?
Stay Strong & Stoic,
